With a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, Nacho Martín Silva earned a study grant for the Casa de Velázquez in 2015, and since then he has furthered his training in different workshops and international artist gatherings.
One of his best-known projects is The Large Studio, which has intermittently occupied his artistic output in the past five years and is based on an invitation to the spectator and the need to provide graphic material to further a series of large-scale paintings. In other works, his pictorial inquiries explore formulations based on meanings, document appropriations and literary referents which view painting as a reductive process to adopt history as simultaneously a model and a theme.
